The event recognizes and honors one girl and one woman for their outstanding achievements in each of the following ten categories: Creative Arts, Entrepreneurship, Government & Legal, Inspiration, Numbers, Practical Arts, Social Sciences, Sports & Fitness, Technology, and The Sciences.

• Nominations – Do you know a girl or woman who exhibits courage, confidence and character, and who is making the world a better place? Tell us about her and she may be selected as a 2009 Girl or Woman of Distinction. Nomination forms will be available beginning Friday, September 5, 2008.

• Sponsorship Opportunities for 2009 – By supporting this event through one of several sponsorship levels, your dollars will help fund core Girl Scout activities throughout the year, including traditional troops, camp and the Urban Girl Scout Program. Through sponsoring, you will also help to recognize some of the most outstanding young women and female leaders in our community.
